Do you feel it? The hopelessness of the situation we have created for ourselves after every piece of trash we discard piles up. If we collected all the trash in a room you and I create, even over a couple of months, we would be suffocated by it. And yet, we can try as we might reduce what we waste, but if corporations do not do the same, it is over for us. I realize though, that there is value within some of the things I throw away, and I want to find the gold within what I waste so I can make use of it to send a message.
I want you to remember, even though there is not much we can do to solve the global problem, individually our words and actions can send ripples of change! Allow this piece to spread a message to care for the planet and be mindful of our actions and waste.

I thought about my contribution to the waste problem when I noticed my recyclables that I had been collecting starting to pile up. This was only a fraction of all the trash I produced over the last month and a half. Almost daily, I threw out plastic containers that were no longer useful. It made me wonder how easy it is to forget how big of an impact the simple act of throwing away garbage has for each one of us.
Since the creation of trash pickup, people have only needed to deal with their refuse for a week at a time, filling their trash bins before it was shipped off never to be seen again, forgotten and left to decompose.
